The Freshman Maroon football team traveled to Alief Hastings and came away with a win by score of 28-6. The Longhorns started off slow, but then Darius Anderson found the endzone for six. The defense started the 2nd half, and Mikial Onu had an interception to give the Longhorns the ball. The offense came out firing as they moved the ball down the field. Josh Scruggs scored, and a Blake Whichard pass to Anderson added the 2-point conversion. Later in the 3rd, Mick Linton pounded his way into the endzone with Anderson adding the 2-pointconversion. With the Longhorns leading22-0, the Bears scored their first points with about 30 ticks left in the game. On the ensuing kickoff, Anderson returned the ball 80 yards,zig-zagging across the field for another touchdown, giving a final score of28-6. The Longhorns open up district play next Wednesday as they host the Foster Falcons. Come out and be loud for an exciting game!
