The planning committee for this year’s fundraiser met this past Monday. MANY options were discussed and changes had to be made due to various reason, but please mark the following on your calendars…
This year’s 1st annual GR ABC “ Boots and Bling” fundraising event will be held Saturday April 6th, 2012 from 6-10pm. Many more details to follow in the coming months. This event will replace the Crawfish Boil that was originally being planned for February.
The following is in place, but we still need everyone’s help to make this a success. Please let me know if you are willing to help out in the areas listed.
-Becky Beckenbach and Susan Tse and have agreed to help with ticket sales. Volunteers will be needed closer to event to possibly sell at lunches and other functions. Ticket sales will be available on line as well.
-Stephanie West is checking on local bands for entertainment. If you know of anyone she can contact as a possible act please let her know. Someone mentioned Coach Burrows is a DJ.
-Will Robinson is looking into possible donations from distributors for a cash or open bar. Fair requirements regarding alcohol will be emailed to him when received.
-Mark Ellefson is checking on obtaining insurance for event and fairground requirements for this, if any. Fair info. will be emailed to him when obtained.
-Shan Oliver will be contacting Roxanne Crawford regarding press releases to local media outlets. Would like our information to reach all schools in the Maroon track.
-John Flannery is making arrangements for security for event and information from the fairgrounds will be sent to him when received.
-Patrick Ricci will be seeking out parents to help with the silent auction items.
-Team parents who were on hand were given information on what kind of items we are seekin for auctions. John also emailed all the team parent reps about basket ideas.
-Kim Horst and Stephaney Davis will be seeking out two possible food vendors(Bar B Q) each to weigh all our food options.
-Stephaney Davis will contact auctioneers about auctioneering the live auction should we have one.
The next planning meeting will take place on Monday Nov. 5th at 7pm in the Field House.
I know how crazy everyone’s schedule is so please, If anyone wants to meet independently at another time to help plan a certain area of the event, I encourage you all to do so. Then maybe one person from that meeting can fill in the committee at the Nov. 5th meeting.
