The Freshman Maroon football team hosted Brazosport last Thursday night and came away with a victory by the score of 38-6.   The Longhorns struck first on the second play of the game with Josh Scruggs finding the endzone for 6.   Darius Anderson added the 2-point conversion.   Later in the first, Anderson found the endzone for 6, and Chance Guajardo added 2.   Mikial Onu intercepted the ball for the Longhorn defense, and the offense went to work again.   Scruggs was able to scamper into the endzone for another 6.   In the second quarter, DJ Thomas made a great catch from a Blake Whichard pass to put the Longhorns in scoring range.   Anderson scored the TD with Whichard adding the 2-point conversion to give a 30-0 lead at half.   The Longhorns defense came up again with an interception, this time by Thomas Griffiths.   A Mick Linton pass to Guajardo gave the Longhorns their final touchdown with Linton adding 2.   The Exporters were able to score late in the 4th as time was winding down, and the Longhorns ran out the clock.   Both the offense and defense did a great job.   The Freshman Maroon team travels to Bay City this week with a 8-1 (4-1 district) record as they finish out the season.
