The Longhorn JV wrestlers squared off against the other three LCISD schools last week at Terry High School. The Longhorns did extremely well and showed considerable improvement. The big winners last night included Brandon Yarbrough, Carter Feldhoff, Alex Davis, Myles West, Jackson Santa Ana, Chance Guajardo and Zyon Savery. The Longhorn wrestling teams competed in the Falcon Classic this past Saturday. The Women’s and JV teams finished 6th overall with the Men’s team finishing 3rd behind Beaumont Westbrook and Katy Taylor. In the varsity division, Chris Greer was once again a tournament champion. Garrett Brinneman finished 2nd, and Corey Chariter, Josh Marine and Cody Lavoi all finished in 3rd. In the Women’s division, Loren Braun finished 2nd. And in the JV division, the guys swept 1st through 3rd in several weight classes. Some of the best performances were by Blake Wichard, Caleb Martinez, Colin Flannery and J.D. Pope. The Longhorns will compete on Wednesday night at Terry HS.
