Congratulations to the Varsity girls’ soccer team for finishing third in the Waller Classic over the weekend.
Friday night the girls took on Playoff rivals Angleton and won a close 1-0 game. The only goal of the match came from Alannah Jones finishing a Julia Linton corner kick. Michelle Mills came up big in the goal by blocking a point blank shot in the box. Saturday morning the girls took on Cy Spring and defeated the Panthers 3-2 due to the three goals produced by Julia Linton. Based on the point system the three wins on the weekend advanced them to the third place game. In their final game to the weekend, the Longhorns took on Cy Falls Eagles and defeated them 1-0 by scoring in the first 15 seconds of the game when Julia Linton took the kick off the length of the field to score. We had excellent play from the entire team, advancing the girls’ record to 7-1 on the season.
