Varsity– The Varsity team lost 5-4 in seven innings on Friday at RPHS after surrendering the lead in the sixth inning. Alyssa Curts racked up two RBIs on two hits for George Ranch. She singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning. In the top of the first, the Longhorns grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Ashley Kopps got things going for George Ranch with a single. A groundout by Reagan Coss moved Kopps from first to second. Jaylin Baldridge singled, bringing home Kopps. The girls play at Terry on Tuesday at 6:30pm.
JV – The JV softball team was outmuscled by Ridge Point 8-1 on Friday. Lupita Nowak baffled Ridge Point, striking out four batters. Nowak allowed three earned runs, eight hits and one walk over four innings. The Longhorns managed to score one run in the first inning on an RBI double by Nowak, who went 2 for 2 at the plate. JV plays at Terry on Tuesday at 5:00pm.
