JVLupita Nowak powered George Ranch JV softball at the plate and in the circle Tuesday, willing George Ranch to an 8-1 victory over Terry. Nowak paced the Longhorns at the plate. She went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the first inning and tripled in the second inning. Terry couldn’t get anything going as long as Nowak was pitching. Nowak gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked none and struck out six during her four innings of work. Eight runs in the first three innings helped the Longhorns blow out Terry. An RBI single by Lauren Chubon, an RBI triple by Nowak, a steal of home by Nowak, and a steal of home by Heidi Hamp supplied the early offense for George Ranch.

Varsity –The Longhorn Varsity softball team stomped Terry at the plate and in the field last night, needing only 3 innings to complete the game. Ashley Kopps, Sarah Gonzales, Stephanie Money, Brittney Morse, Alyssa Curts, Emily Rimes and Reagan Coss all hit doubles. Gonzales also hit a triple while Jaylin Baldridge hit a homerun. On the mound Roxy Weinle gave up no hits. The Longhorns play on Thursday at home in the LCISD Invitational.
