The Varsity baseball team opened its season with an 11-1 win, in 5 innings, over Westfield last night here at the Ranch. Grant Page started on the mound for the Longhorns, going 4 innings allowing only 1 earned run while striking out 6. Jonathan Kastens came in to close out the game, striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced. The offense was led by Jared Shaver who was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, Kyle Owen with a 3-run homerun, Austin Burden who was 2 for 3, and Cameron Boudreaux who was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s. The Longhorns travel to the Woodlands for a tournament beginning Thursday.
