Varsity – The Men’s wrestling team has captured the district 12-4A championship. Foster and Friendswood took turns in second place nipping at the Longhorns’ heels. Despite fighting searing pain from injuries he sustained and being down 11-1 in an elimination match, he managed to turn his opponent in the last round for a pin. It was one of the most outstanding performances of the year! Finishing in 3rd place was Michael Sosnowski. Finishing in 2nd place were Nick Tripicchio, Jakob Marine, and Michael Orhii. The Longhorns who wrapped up the tournament as champions were Josh Marine, Corey Chartier, Brad Cross, Garrett Brinneman, Chris Greer and Joey Minkel. Also, Chris Greer was unanimously voted as the Most Outstanding Wrestler from 152 to 285 pounds! These young men will be representing George Ranch High School in Humble, Texas, at the Region 3 wrestling tournament. Good luck, Longhorns!!!
