The 12 men and 4 women of the Longhorn Wrestling program who qualified at districts traveled to Summer Creek HS this past weekend to compete in the UIL Region 3 wrestling tournament. For the women’s team Alexandra Sanchez placed 6th in the 128-pound division, Shelby McArthur place 2nd in the 110-pound division and Loren Braun was the Regional Champion in the 102-pound division. For the men Corey Chartier placed 6th in the 145-pound division, Josh Marine placed 5th in the 126-pound division, Garrett Brinneman placed 3rd in the 182-pound division, and Chris Greer was the Regional runner-up at 195 pounds. Overall, both men’s and women’s teams finished 8th out of the entire region. The wrestlers who will be traveling to Austin to represent George Ranch at the state wrestling tournament are Shelby McArthur, Loren Braun, Josh Marine, Garrett Brinneman and Chris Greer. The tournament will take place February 21-23.
