In the first game of the LCISD Invitational, Sealy was unable to fight back from the big hole it dug itself into against the Longhorns. Sealy fell behind by seven runs in the fifth inning. They scored six runs in the sixth inning on two three-run blasts, but they weren’t able to take the lead back. The Longhorns held on for an 8-7 win. Ashley Kopps hit one out of the park in the third inning. Then Brittney Morse racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Horns. She homered in the third inning and doubled in the fifth inning. The Longhorns added five more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Morse kicked things off with a double, scoring Jaylin Baldridge and Roxy Weinle. That was followed up by Emily Rimes’s double, bringing home Stephanie Money and Morse. In the final game of the evening, the Longhorns shut the door early on Fort Bend Austin, capturing a 12-2 victory at GRHS. With eight runs in the first three innings, the Longhorns left no doubt about the eventual outcome. An RBI double by Stephanie Money and an RBI triple by Brittney Morse in the first inning, and a two-run home run by Reagan Coss and a two-run double by Morse during the second inning fueled George Ranch’s offense early. Coss racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Longhorns. Join the Longhorns tonight as they take on Bush High School at 5:00pm. The JV game will follow.
