VarsityBrittney Morse went 1-3, sparking George Ranch Varsity to a 5-2 victory in seven innings over Bay City. She singled in the second inning. The Longhorns went up for good in the second, scoring one run on an RBI by Stephanie Money. George Ranch built upon its lead with three runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Madison McDonald singled, plating Jaylin Baldridge to kick things off. Natasha Cabucio baffled Bay City, striking out 11 batters. Cabucio allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings. The Longhorns finished 3rd in district play, which advances them to the 2013 playoffs. First round game times will be determined. Hook ’em!

JV – JV softball jumped out to an early lead last night against Bay City and captured an 8-1 victory. Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Longhorns to put the game away. A two-run single by Sydney Scott and a hit-by-pitch during the second inning fueled the Longhorns. Bay City’s lineup had no answer for Lupita Nowak. Bay City managed just one hit off of the George Ranch pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out eight during her five innings of work. In the third, the Longhorns scored, plating Heidi Hamp. After posting two runs in the third, the Horns again scored two in the fourth. A ground out scored Brianna Dixon to get the Longhorns on the board in the inning.
