Tuesday night the Longhorn baseball team faced Angleton, and the game was suspended in the top of the 7th inning due to weather with a score of 4-4. On Tuesday, Will Gay took the mound with Jonathan Kastens and Grant Page coming in for relief. The Longhorns were down 4-1 with 2 outs, but came back with Lorenzo Palomeres and Kyle Owen reaching base for Gay to knock in one of those runs. Stone Garrett then came up to the plate, and his timely hit scored two runs to tie. The Longhorns resumed play last night with Wes Thompson taking the bump for 2 innings. The game came alive in the 8th inning as Owen doubled with Gay and Garrett then walking to load the bases for Thompson. Thompson worked the count full with 2 outs and drew the game winning RBI walk for a score of 5-4. The Longhorns are now 6-1 as they head to Lamar Consolidated tonight to take on the Mustangs. Thanks to the wonderful fans who braved the crazy weather for two nights to show their support… see y’all tonight at Lamar!
