Last week, the Varsity tennis team competed in the District 23-4A Tournament. The team worked very hard all year to have a strong showing with many athletes advancing to regionals. First place winners were Ally and Michael Maciel in mixed doubles and Michael Ballone and Eric Beckenbach in boys’ doubles. Alessandra Jara placed second in girls’ singles and will be advancing to regionals as well. Third place finishers and regional alternates are Bryce Davis and Ashley Cavazos, Haley Schulte and Rachel Dziuk, and Sean Sellers and Marshall Sereno. These athletes will travel to Willis for the Regional Tournament in two weeks. Great job, Longhorns!
