Varsity – Congratulations to the GRHS varsity tennis team who took on the Foster Falcons on Wednesday, August 28. After being rained out on the 27th, the Longhorns returned to Foster with a vengeance. After winning 5 of the 7 doubles matches, the Longhorns took the court to get five more wins. After a strong showing in singles, the final match score was 12-7.
JV – JV tennis played a tough match against Foster at home on Thursday, August 29. In boys’ singles, Chris McNally had an impressive win with a score of 8-2 while Odigie Igene won his match at 8-3. In boys’ doubles, Garret Veazey and Bryce McKinnon took down their opponent with a final score of 8-4, and our mixed doubles team of Will Alexander and Hannah Rosenbaum held strong and won at 8-6. In girls’ doubles Ashley Cao and Aisha Sheikh won their match against Foster with a score of 8-5 as well as doubles team Sarah Moran and Amelia Nelson with a score of 9-7. Overall, Foster won with a score of 17-8.
