The Longhorn girls’ basketball program swept the Ridge Point Panthers last night at home.
Freshman – The Freshman team beat the panthers 44-4. Hannah Agner led with 9 points, while Hailey Johnson added 6.
JV – The JV Longhorns put the Panthers away with a score of 54-18. Chinwe Eke was high point scorer with 15 points along with Shavon Pittman and Savannah Brown with 11 points.
Varsity – The Varsity Longhorns came out strong in the first half outscoring the Panthers 32-17. A string of turnovers allowed the Panthers to regain speed tying up the game at 55 at the end of regulation. The Longhorns were able to hang on in overtime with a 65-64 win. Freshman Julia Schwake had 14 points, three of them from the three-point line. Olivia West had 11 points, and freshman Lauren Boyd rounded out the Longhorns’ scoring with double digits of 10.
The Longhorns will host the Needville Bluejays on Friday starting with JV at 4:30pm.
