The girls’ varsity Cross Country team finished its season at the Region III-4A Championships this past weekend. The girls moved up two spots from last year improving their overall finish to 12th out of 24 total teams in the competition. Senior Heather Haig ran her personal and season best time of 20:23 to earn 19th place for the team. Freshman Grayson Thomas finished 49th overall, sophomore Alexis Aikens 59th, junior Elizabeth Hinz 73rd, sophomore Sydney Heikkila 87th, senior Mariana Castaneda 88th and junior Carolina Perez 119th. There were a total of 176 competitors, and the girls took on the competition to enhance their performance to accomplish their goals.  I am extremely proud of the girls and the work they put in from the summer time to right now.  We would like to thank George Ranch High School for the support, and we appreciate each and every one of you.
