George Ranch made history last Thursday night by winning its first playoff game in school history. It was action from the opening kick as Torin Marks set up the first touchdown by intercepting Goose Creek’s first pass of the night on the 40-yard line and returning it to Goose Creek’s 10-yard line. From there, running back Collins Kwabena punched it in for the score. Kwabena ended up scoring three touch touchdowns for the night. The defense continued to play well during the 2nd half of the game with Alfred Wande picking off two more of Goose Creek’s passes, one of which Wande was able to take back for a touchdown. Wande ended up with two interceptions and 5 solo tackles including a tackle for loss. Other key contributors were Timon Nolan who had 122 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns, and Darius Anderson and Xavian Marks each ended the game with a touchdown. The final score was Longhorns 53 and Goose Creek 31. Join your Longhorns this Friday as they battle the Marshall Buffaloes in the 2nd round of playoffs!
