Congratulations to the girls’ Varsity soccer team for winning the consolation championship in the Spring Branch Varsity Tournament. The girls took on Crosby on Friday night and dominated the game winning 3-0, which advanced them to the consolation final. Goal scorers were Julia Linton, Sydney Heikkila and Riley Murray. Excellent defensive play came from Meghan Burger and Shanna Hardin. In the consolation final, the Longhorns took on a physical team from Northbrook High School. Ally Dernehl and Michelle Mills scored on the day to help the Longhorns win 2-0. Maddie Nicholson, Colleen Janecek and Haley Hartnett had superb play and helped distribute the ball for the Longhorns’ attack.
The girls will travel to Angleton on Tuesday to take on the Wildcats.
