The Varsity baseball team traveled to the Woodlands to take on Langham Creek in the Highlander Classic Tournament and lost a close one 8-9. Wesley Thompson started on the bump and went 3 1/3 innings with Sarah Hudek, Gabe Rodriguez, and Brad Greer closing out the game. The offense was led by Stone Garrett who went 2 for 2 with a homerun, Will Gay who was 3 for 4 with a homerun, Cam Boudreaux who was 2 for 4, and Grant Page and Kenny Barzilla who each contributed a double.

Varsity traveled back to the Woodlands on Friday to take on Klein Collins in the Highlander Classic Tournament and lost 6-8. Grant Page took the mound and went 4 innings allowing 5 earned runs on 6 hits and struck out 3, with Kyle Owen coming in for 2 innings of relief. Cameron Boudreaux and Owen had multiple hits, including a double each to help the offense. Alex Shaver, Page, Brad Greer, Garrett Gray, and Kenny Barzilla each contributed hits. The loss put them at 0-2 in the tournament through Friday.

The team traveled back to the Woodlands again on Saturday to get revenge on Langham Creek with a 13-4 victory. Jon Kastens went the distance on the mound allowing 4 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 3. Cameron Boudreaux, Will Gay, Kyle Owen, Garrett Gray, and Kastens had multiple hits while Gay, Owen, and Kenny Barzilla each had homeruns. Game 2 on Saturday came against Kinkaid with Kevin Kopps on the mound. Kopps pitched the complete game allowing only 3 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 4. Boudreaux, Owen, and Kastens each had multiple hits to help hold on to a 6-5 win. The Longhorns finished the tournament 2-2 and improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Varsity will host the LCISD tournament on Thursday through Saturday here at the Ranch. Thank you for coming out and showing your support.
