JV played in the Katy Invitational Tournament over the weekend. London Diller threw a shutout to carry the Longhorns to a 7-0 victory over Tompkins in five innings on Saturday. Diller baffled Tompkins, striking out 11 batters. The Longhorn pitcher gave up just one hit. In the fifth, the Longhorns’ bats caught fire leading to four runs. Lauren Chubon went 2-2 and scored one run. In the last game of the day, George Ranch beat Westside 12-1 in five innings after a seven-run explosion in the fifth inning. Westside couldn’t get anything going as long as London Diller was pitching. Westside managed just one hit off Diller, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out eleven. Marley Potter had a hot bat for the Horns, driving in one and scoring twice. The Horns scored two more runs on an RBI double by Mekol Badillo.
