JV Maroon – The JV Maroon baseball team tallied 6 more wins over spring break including wins over Manvel, St. Pius, El Campo, and Elkins. In district play, Ryan Harris picked up the win in a 14-4 victory over Angleton, throwing 10 strikeouts and giving up 4 runs over 5 innings. Ryan Johnston picked up the win vs. Lamar Consolidated on Friday, throwing 7 strikeouts and giving up 0 runs in 4 innings pitched in a 12-0 victory over the Mustangs. Leading the offense in district over spring break were Chase Appleby batting 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs, Kyle Boudreaux batting 3 for 4 with 3 walks, and Nathan Weaver batting 2 for 3 with a double, a homerun, and 5 RBIs. The JV Maroon Longhorns will take their 12-1 record against Brazosport this Friday night at the Ranch.

Varsity – The Varsity baseball team finished up the Wings n More Tournament the weekend before spring break with a 4-1 record. With a win over Flowermound on Thursday, the Longhorns faced Allen and College Park on Friday and came away with 12-4 and 11-3 wins. That Saturday, the Longhorns took a loss to Tomball by score of 6-1 and then beat Georgetown 6-3. The Varsity opened up district play last Tuesday and beat Angleton 4-0 with Grant Page pitching a 1-hit complete game shutout. District play continued on Friday with a 10-2 victory over the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs. Kevin Kopps started on the mound going 5 innings, giving up only 1 earned run while striking out 9. Wesley Thompson came in for relief. Garrett Gray went 3 for 4, Stone Garrett went 3 for 3, and Grant Page went 2 for 3 at the plate. The 12-5 Longhorns are open on Tuesday and continue district play on Friday as they travel to Brazosport to take on the Exporters.
