Congratulations to the girls’ varsity track team and their 1st place overall team finish at the LCISD Relays this past Friday. Freshman Alexis Thomas and senior Ellie Gonzales started off the meet with breaking school records in the girls high jump and girls pole vault. Members contributing to point totals were: Leandra Houston-4th in Long Jump; Stacy Chukwujeku-6th shot put; Otito Omeludike-1st in triple jump; Alexis White-3rd in triple jump; Alexis Thomas-6th in triple jump; Deandria Batiste-5th in high jump; Lisa Egege, Deandria Batiste and Amber Willis placed 3rd, 5th and 6th in the 100meters; Lisa Egege-2nd in the 200meters; Chigozie Ogbonna, Kandice Miles and Lily Egege placed 4th, 5th and 6th in the 400meters; Grayson Thomas-5th in the 1600meters and 4th in the 3200meters; Abisola Anifowoshe, Alexis White, and Madison Spaulding finished 1st, 2nd and 5th in the 100meter hurdles; Geordan Yelder and Katelyn Burke finished 2nd and 5th in the 300meter hurdles; Deandria Batiste, Chidube Ogbonna, Kearah Nails and Lisa Egege 4th in the 4×100 relay; Stacy Chukwujeku, Chideube Ogbonna, Destiny Rutherford and Aja Willis 3rd in the 4×200 relay; Kandice Miles, Chigozie Ogbonna, Destiny Rutheford and Geordan Yelder 1st place in the 4×400 relay.
