Stephanie Money collected 3 hits helping the Longhorns to a 3-2 victory over Friendswood on Friday at the Ranch. The attack began in the bottom of the first when Kayte Martinez singled and then stole second base and scored on errors in the same play. Alexis Tovar silenced Friendswood for the first 5 innings of play. Tovar was on the hill for 5 innings and racked up 6 strikeouts, no walks and gave up 6 hits. The Longhorns got one-run rallies in the 3rd and 8th innings. In the bottom of the 8th inning, Money scored on a squeeze bunt by Madison McDonald to win the game. The Longhorns will play at Ridge Point in Game 1 of the Area round of playoffs on Thursday. Game time is 7:00pm. Game 2 will be on Friday at 5:00pm at the Ranch. Game 3, if necessary, will follow at 7:00pm. All tickets are $5.
