Varsity – The Longhorn Varsity team defeated the Lady Mustangs on Tuesday night with a score of 6-3. The Longhorns executed early, scoring 2 runs in the second inning. Emily Rimes started things off in the second with a double, and Alyssa Curts followed with a single. Lamar answered back and made the game close with a score of 4-3 in the 6th, but solid pitching by Alexis Tovar kept the Mustangs in check. The Longhorns surged forward with hits by Natasha Cabucio and a squeeze bunt by Rimes scoring Stephanie Money. The Longhorn defense held tight in the 7th securing the victory for the team.

JV – The JV Longhorn offense was too much for Lamar in a 12-1 rout over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The game was decided quickly as the Longhorns exerted their power early with six runs in the first three innings. The Longhorns tacked on another five runs in the fourth. Mekol Badillo‘s double got things going, bringing home Parker McCarley and Lauren Chubon. That was followed up by Kim Williams’ single, bringing home Badillo. Williams racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Horns. Lamar managed just one hit off London Diller, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out 10 during her five innings of work.
