The Varsity Baseball team forced Game 3 with a 10-3 win over Goose Creek in Game 2 on Friday night. Kevin Kopps went 6 innings with Jonathan Kastens coming in to close out the game. Cam Boudreaux was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. Kyle Owen, Garret Gray, and Kastens each had a double. Brady Burns and Will Gay each legged out a triple.

Game 3 on Saturday gave fans their money’s worth as the Horns won 12-10 in 8 innings. Being down 6-0 heading in to the 4th didn’t keep the Longhorns down as they put up 8 runs in the top with a 2-RBI double by Grant Page and then a 3-run bomb by Stone Garrett. In the 6th the Longhorns went up 10-7 with RBI’s by Boudreaux and Owen. The 7th inning saw the game tied at 10 when Sarah Hudek came in to take the mound. With runners on 2nd and 3rd she got the Longhorns out of the jam to go to extra innings. Alex Shaver scored on an Owen single, who then scored on a Hudek walk giving the Longhorns a 12-10 victory.

The Longhorns advance to the Regional Semifinals to face Magnolia this Thursday at the Ranch. Game time is 7:30pm, and we would love to see everybody out there to support the team. Thanks to those who came out and endured the heat and extended play on prom day.
