JV Maroon – The JV Maroon football team lost a tough one 20-17 to Morton Ranch last night. Alex Fontenot scored the first touchdown for the Longhorns. Sergio Martinez made the extra point. Layton Shoupe scored the other touchdown. The Longhorn defense contributed 2 safeties to the scoring effort. The Longhorns travel to Goose Creek Memorial HS to play Port Arthur Memorial next Thursday.

JV Black – Last night the JV Black football team defeated Fort Bend Travis 20-6. Scoring for the Longhorns were Jason Ramsland, Jaques McGee and Miles Thompson. Thompson led the Longhorns in rushing, while Ricky Boehck led a tough Longhorn defense in tackles. The Longhorns travel to Goose Creek Memorial HS to play Port Arthur Memorial next Thursday to keep their unbeaten streak alive.

Freshman Maroon – The Freshman Maroon team improved to 2-1 last night with a 35-0 victory over Morton Ranch. Alec Harris got the Longhorns on the board with a TD. The PAT would be no good on the first try. Harris would score again, and a Ricky Lester pass to Jevon Hill added the 2-point conversion. With the Longhorns up 14-0, Lester was able to find the end zone with great blocking up front by the offensive line. Colby Bonds added the PAT. David Fisher and Bonds each added another TD with both PAT’s through the uprights by Bonds. The defense was led by Chester Sims, Topher Hepp and Colton Roberton who had 2 fumble recoveries. The Longhorns travel to Sultis Stadium at Baytown Lee HS next Thursday to take on Port Arthur Memorial.

Freshman Black – The Freshman Black team rolled over Morton Ranch last night to stay undefeated at 3-0. The final score was 42-28. The Longhorns were led defensively by Khalen Leonard who had an interception and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. The Longhorn offense was led once again by running back Christian Davis who had two touchdowns and two 2-point conversions. Quarterback Charles Mendez connected with receiver Devin Rios on two passes for 30 yards and a touchdown. Alec Schroeder did an outstanding job kicking off and also had two extra points. Semaj Brown also scored a touchdown, as did quarterback Christian Drey who scored on a 50-yard quarterback sneak. The Longhorns travel to Sultis Stadium at Baytown Lee HS next Thursday to take on Port Arthur Memorial.
