Varsity – The varsity Longhorn tennis team played their 4th district match of the season last week and came out with another win improving their district record to 4-0. The score was 19-0 with every player winning in straight sets. This week the Longhorns will play Calhoun. A win will give the team its 4th straight district title. Please come out to watch as these seniors play their last district match: Camille Saha, Mark Kilday, Grant Holly, Alexi Redies, Chris Blanco, Kenneth Cunningham, Destiny Rutherford, and Fernando Prado.
In addition, the Varsity team took a break from district play to take on the Clements Rangers over the weekend. The Longhorns won handily 17-2. Every player won a match and made quite an improvement from last year’s match. Friday it’s cookout night, so bring $6 for burgers and enjoy some tennis before the football game.
JV – The JV tennis team played Clements last week and was defeated 23-3. Hannah Rosenbaum and Will Blanco won in mixed doubles 8-4; Josh Joe won his singles match by a score of 8-6; and Nick Luu won with an impressive score of 8-3. Next, we take on Calhoun!
