The Longhorns took on Temple last Saturday in the 5A Regional Quarter Finals in Round Rock and put up a good fight, but came up short 28 to 14. During the first half the Longhorns fell behind 14 to 0 by giving up a 35-yard touchdown run and a 24-yard touchdown pass that gave Temple the momentum going into the 2nd half. Losing quarterback and leader Timon Nolan to an injury early in the first half made it difficult to keep up with the Temple Wildcat offense. Young sophomore quarterback, Antonio Jackson, did a good job filling in by completing 6 of 9 passes and throwing one touchdown. Darius Anderson played well by rushing for 154 yards on 20 carries. The defense put forth great effort keeping the game close, but at the end the Temple Wildcats were victorious. The Longhorns had a great season by going to the 5A Regional Quarter Finals two years in a row, and the George Ranch High School and community are very proud of these young men for their hard work and dedication.
