The JV girls’ soccer team competed in the Alief ISD Classic over the weekend. Friday night they played a solid Reagan team that had an excellent keeper that was hard to beat. The girls won an exciting game when Janet Avalos pressed the keeper to make her bobble Kasey Davis‘ throw in, and Austin Martz pushed the ball past the keeper. This win sent the girls to the Championship game against FB Bush. The girls kept the streak going by defeating the Lady Broncos 5-1. Sofia Arrerola led the scoring for the Longhorns with 2 goals with Jenna Sanders, Marissa Vrba and Janet Avalos all scoring one goal. Kasey Davis added 2 assists with Taylor Rech, Lucy Perez and Litzy Vasquez all adding one. Claire McInnis and Maddie Woodfin played great defense for the Longhorns.
