Varsity – The Longhorn Varsity baseball team traveled to Strake Jesuit last night to take on the Crusaders and came away with a 6-3 victory. Jonathan Kastens took the mound for the Longhorns, going 4 1/3 innings allowing only 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits and 6 strikeouts. Josh Lapierre came in to close out the game, allowing no hits and 2 strikeouts. The offensive attack was led by Bradley Greer who went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, Garrett Gray who was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, Kevin Kopps 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a RBI, and Alex Shaver who was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Nathan Weaver, Bryce Varni, and Dylan Rock each contributed hits with Weaver adding an RBI. With a 3-3 record, the Longhorns will host the LCISD tournament this weekend beginning on Thursday.

JV – The JV baseball team dropped a hard fought game to Strake Jesuit on Monday night 4-7. Brad Armstrong pitched a strong start, throwing 7 strikeouts and giving up 1 earned run over 5 innings. Joseph Menefee batted 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored, while Jake Zatopek batted 2 for 4 and recorded 2 RBIs.

Sophomore – The Longhorn Sophomore team defeated Strake Jesuit last night by a score of 14-2. The Longhorns were led defensively by Nathan Storer, who pitched a complete game. The entire Longhorn team reached base during the game led by Kyle Curtis who got on four times and Hayden Steubing who reached three times. The Longhorns will travel to Columbia on Friday night for a doubleheader with the Roughnecks starting at 5:00pm.
