The Longhorn girls’ varsity track team competed at the College Park Invite on Saturday, March 28th. The Longhorns had some notable personal records accomplished this weekend. Samantha Chartier placed 4th overall and was the only Longhorn to score for the team this weekend. She tied her personal and school record with a leap of 5 feet even in girls’ high jump. There were 43 competitors, and she came out well with the competition. Clair Campbell soared to a personal record in girls’ pole vault with a clearance of 8 feet, 6 inches. Her previous record of 7 feet was shattered. She also tied her personal record in girls’ high jump clearing 4 feet, 10 inches. Dominique Jean-Batiste set a personal record in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.56. Parker McCarley also set a personal record in the girls’ 3200-meter run. Lily Egege also ran her way to a personal record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:35.74. She was also a part of the fastest sprint medley ran in the program this season with Alexis Thomas, Chidube Ogbonna, Lily Egege and Linda Etufugh. The girls’ medley placed 7th out of 13 teams.
