footballCongratulations to our Varsity Football team with capturing their 9th Win of the season in a dominating fashion beating the Lamar Mustangs 49 to 10. This win improves our record to 9 and 0 helping us secure a playoff spot and making us the 2015 District Champs! On our offense, Darius Anderson, Alex Fontenot, Quinton Morris and David Fisher all scored touchdowns helping us maintain an undefeated record. Also contributing in the scoring column was Eric Michel making all of his extra point attempts. Our defense was very stingy only allowing Lamar 81 total yards and 10 points. Next Friday we will be traveling to Port Lavaca, TX to take on the Calhoun Sandcrabs. Game time 7:30pm at Sandcrab Stadium.

The JV maroon football traveled to Traylor Stadium last night to play Lamar Consolidated and came home with a 52-6 victory. Thomas Cook led the attack with 4 touchdown runs. Charles Mendez, Dylan Swain, Ryan Moore, and Joseph Garrey also contributed to the offensive onslaught. Matt Burger, Brandon Greer, Tanner Thornton, and Topher Hepp all played well defensively. The Longhorns are now 7-2 on the season and 4-0 in district play.

The Freshman Maroon football team hosted Lamar last night and came away with a decisive 41-0 victory. The defense shut down the Mustangs all night long and added 12 points to the board with 2 Dominic Butler punt returns for touchdowns. Nico Velasquez recovered a fumble for the Longhorn defense on a kickoff. Jay’Ren Miller had 2 rushing touchdowns for the Longhorns with Ace Walker adding another. Cristian Jackson connected with Nick Martinez for a touchdown and with Carson Holloway for a 2 point conversion. Michael Molina would round out the scoring with 3 extra points. The 9-0 (4-0 in district) Longhorns will travel to Port Lavaca next Thursday to take on the undefeated Calhoun Sandcrabs.
