Congratulations to the Region 3 5-A Champions and STATE BOUND Longhorn Volleyball team!! They stamped their ticket to Garland on Saturday, when the competed in an epic back and forth battle with the Falcons of Barbers Hill. The Longhorns won the Regional final championship with scores of 22-25,25-20, 18- 25, 25-21 and 15-9. Kill leaders for the Longhorns were Valerie Valerian with 28, Allyson Dernehl with 22, Ambrielle Logan with 14 and Mattie Ward with 11. Block leaders were Mattie Ward, Ambrielle Logan and Kennedy Prince all with 5 blocks each. Dig leaders were Valerie Valerian with 26 and Audrey Tuttle with 22 and Abbey Messick providing 57 set assist. The Longhorns with travel to the STATE TOURNAMENT and take on Lucas Lovejoy in the semi final match up on Friday at 12 pm at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX! And Congratulations to Valerie Valerian on winning VYPE Volleyball player of the year!
