Congratulations to the girls Varsity Cross Country team on their First place team Championship for district 23-6A. The girls ran with heart and determination which helped them seal the win. The total score was 42 George Ranch, 45 Pearland Dawson and 48 Pearland. It was a very close deficit to the top and the girl prevailed. There was 100% personal records set for the girls Varsity team. Theresa McComsikey finished the individual district runner up running a PR of 18.32.5, Brooke Johnson finished 6th running 19:35.6, Katia Davis finished 9th and ran 19:55.6 , Ruhi Patel fished 12th and ran 20:14.2 and Sydney Delgado finished 13th and also ran 20:14.2. Alyssa Heikkila 21: 07 and Lauren Ngyuen Ran 23:04 to contribute to the team as well. When you see these ladies please congratulate them on their hard work. This qualifies the team for the Region III Championships held in Huntsville next Saturday.
Congratulations to the girls Junior Varsity on their 2nd place team finish in the District 23-6A Cross Country Championships. Top 5 finishers for George Ranch were Rachel Dolan 8th, Jeyme Alvear-Garcia 10th, Ramsa Kazi 14th, Cami Lidisky 16th and Sienna Espindola 19th. All of the girls top five ran personal records to get their team the runner-up title. Kenia Washington, Alexis Fohl, Colette Knoblauch, Leyla Vera and Hazel Walker all ran personal records as well to be a huge support to the team. In the girls Open race, Hayley Lindstrom finished 6th overall earning a medal, Elizabeth Sanchez finished 9th overall earning a medal and Gabby Galvan finished 26th and ran a personal record as well.
