The Longhorn Varsity Track Team competed at the Cy-Fair ISD Relays last Friday. The boys won the meet will a lot of great performances. In Pole Vault, Robert Platt finished first, Jacob Adair finished 2nd and Nathan Grayson finished 4th. In the 3200M Run, Joshua Triesch finished 3rd, Robert Lord finished 9th and Connor McVoy finished 13th. in the 1600M Run, Jimmy Olmos finished 8th, Luke Edgmon finished 12th and Hunter Davis finished 19th. In the 800M Run, Wilson Hinz finished 3rd, Ian Hernandez finished 14th and Marcus Diep finished 20th. In the 100M Dash, Cristian Velez finished 9th, Thomas Cook finished 13th and Cody Gardner finished 18th. in the 200M Dash, Champion Allison finished 1st and Avery Veiseh Finished 6th. in the 400M Dash, Dylan Swain finished 16th. In the 300M Hurdles, Colton Pounders finished 2nd. The 4x100M Relay finished 5th and the the 4x200M Relay finished 2nd and the 4x400M Relay finished 1st. In Discus, Jeremiah Russell finished 5th and Colton Robertson finished 16th. In the Shot Put, Travis Lafall finished 8th, Jeremiah Russell finished 10th and Nathan Hernandez finished 14th. In High Jump, Joel Barrera finished 2nd, Joshua Okoye finished 6th and JaMarkus Taylor finished 8th. In Long Jump, Kosi Ejeckum finished 10th. In the Triple Jump, Caleb Johnson finished 6th and Damien Gaston finished 11th and Damon Johnson finished 12th. The Longhorns will be competing again at Angleton Relays this Friday at 1:30 PM and Texas Relays Friday and Saturday.
The Longhorn Softball team continued district play against Alief Taylor on Tuesday night. The JV squad came away with a 17-0 win behind strong pitching and hitting efforts. The varsity team also played a great game and won by a score of 17-0. The varsity team completed the first round of district with a 4 and 2 record.
The Longhorn Varsity baseball team improved to 19-1 (4-0 district) with an 11-4 win over Pearland last night. The team had 8 hits with Joseph Menefee contributing a double and 2 triples all while helping his cause on the mound. Jake Zatopek also had a triple. The Longhorns host Alief Elsik here at the Ranch on Friday.
The Longhorn Varsity Baseball team improved to 18-1 (3-0 district) after defeating Brazoswood 9-3 this past Friday night. The bats came alive with a Joseph Menefee homerun and winning pitcher, Brad Armstrong, getting a grand slam to help his cause. The Longhorns travel to Pearland on Tuesday to take on the 3-1 Oilers.
The girls Junior varsity placed 1st for the 5th week in a row at Fulshear Charger Relays. Top 3 finishers in each event were: Ann Rabich placing 1st in high jump and 3rd in the 100 hurdles. Robyn Chukwu placed 3rd in triple jump. In the 3200 meter run Alyssa Heikkila placed 1st and Also placed first in the 1600 meter run. Ramsa Kazi placed 3rd in the 3200 meter. Rylee Salazar placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run and won the 800 meter run. Ava Breeze placed 2nd in the 800 meter run and 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles. Kayla Randon won both the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. Caitlin Hargrove placed 3rd in the 100, while Savannah Creech won the 200 meter and Annalisse Thompson placed 3rd. The longhorns swept all three relays and placed first. The girls 4×100 was Kayla Stepney, Kayla Randon, Annalisse Thompson, and Savannah Creech. The girls 4×200 relay was Caitlyn Hargrove, Sharrell Aodems, Kaitlyn Kador and Kayla Stephney. The girls 4×400 relay had Grace Wahome, Savannah Creech, Skylar Wiltz and Amor Sheffield.
The Longhorns softball team took on the Elsik Rams Friday night and came away with 2 wins. The JV won 15-0 in 3 innings. Pitching the shutout was Alyssa Osadchuk with 7 strikeouts. Leading at the plate was Kennedy Diepraam, who was 2 for 2 with 5 RBI’s. The varsity also won big with a 11-1 victory over the Rams. Pitching for the Horns was London Diller and Nevada Dolnik who combined for 11 strikeouts. Shelby Kvinta and Reese Scott who both drove in 3 runs. The Longhorns continue in district play Tuesday at Alief Taylor.
The George Ranch Tennis team competed in the LCISD Tournament Friday, March 24, 2017. The team had several medalist:
B Girls Singles: Chloe Redies finished in First Place
A Boys Singles: Marc Maciel finished in First Place
B Boys Single: Joshua Joe finished in Third Place
B Boys Double: Ryan Grace and Nick Luu won the Consolation bracket
B Mix Doubles: Grace Nguyen and Ben Miller finished in Third Place.
The tennis team will be traveling next Friday, March 31, 2017, to compete in the Katy ISD Tournament.
The Longhorn girls soccer team competed in the Bi- District round of the Playoffs Thursday night against the Friendswood Lady Mustangs. Despite a great team effort the Longhorns fell 2-0. A special thank you goes to the senior class of 2017 for their leadership and commitment to the program over the past four years. Thank you for setting the standard of excellence the Longhorn program stands for.
The Longhorn softball teams continued district play on Tuesday night against the Pearland Oilers. The JV team lost by a score of 12-1. Highlights included a triple by Izzy Llittle and a 2 for 2 effort at the plate by Jayden Smith. The varsity team started out strong behind solid pitching and defensive performances. The game was tight into the fourth inning but unfortunately the Oilers scored 4 and pulled away late. The final score was 6-0.
The Longhorn Varsity Baseball team improved to 17-1 (2-0 in District) over the break. The district wins came after two stellar pitching performances by Josh Lapierre and Joseph Menefee. Lapierre faced 24 batters and struck out 21 to get the complete game shutout. Menefee threw a no hitter against Pearland Dawson during his complete game shutout. The defense behind these guys and a few timely hits help secure the wins. The Longhorns are open this Tuesday but will host Brazoswood this Friday here at the Ranch.
Over spring break, both JV and varsity played Morton Ranch Mavericks; both teams earned a win 12-4 and 15-0 respectively. In JV action, Alyssa Osadchuck pitched 3 solid innings striking out 7 batters and giving up only 4 hits. Leading hitters were Kennedy Diepraam who went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and Alyssa Osadchuck who was 2 for 3 with a home run. In the varsity game, Lexi Tovar pitched 2 solid innings of shutout softball with 5 strikeouts. Nevada Dolnik came on in relief pitching 3 strong innings and preserving the shutout. Leading hitters were Reese Scott, Shelby Kvinta and Destiny Walker who were all 2 for 2 on the night and Lexi Tovar who went 1 for 2 with a 2 run homerun.
Friday, March 10 Longhorn softball took on the Buccaneers. Leading the JV offense was JJ Smith going 3 for 3 and Emily Hoefer and Izzy Little both hitting base hits. JV ended in a tie battling to come back in the last inning. George Ranch varsity softball took the lead early in the game but couldn’t hold on. Lost to Brazoswood 5-1. Offensive leaders were Kayte (KATE) Martinez, Taylor Pesina and Reese Scott.
The girls soccer team had to battle the lighting and the Taylor Lady Lions on Friday night. When finally allowed to play, the girls scored early and often. Goals were scored by Paige Klase, Jordan Shimaitis, Eden Garver, Ashley Vega, Jenna Sanders, and Dany Torres. Shimaitis led the assist with 2 with Jenna Murray, Sanders, Grace Ramirez, and Riley Grafe all adding one. The girls team will compete in the playoffs after spring break!
The GRHS Boys Soccer team lost to Alief Taylor 3-0. The GRHS JVMaroon team lost to Alief Taylor 5-0. The GRHS JVBlack team lost to Alief Taylor 2-1. The lone goal was scored by Kyrvin Gavarrette.

Congratulations to the girls varsity as they won their 4th consecutive team championship at the 2017 LCISD Relays. The girls competed against some great competition and battled the winds to come out on top. In field events, Nyla Barlow set a personal record and won the girls long jump. Teammate Alexis Woods placed 4th with a season best jump. In triple jump, Alexis Woods also placed 3rd in that event. In girls pole vault, Junior Kaitlin Vasquez placed 2nd overall. In high jump, Victoria Tennon placed 2nd overall tying her season best jump. In running events, Theresa McComiskey showed out in front of the home crowd winning in true fashion the girls 1600 meter and 3200 meter run. Teammate Brooke Johnson finished 6th in the 3200. In the girls 100 meters, Mikayla Wright finished 6th running a personal best time. In the 200 meters, Camille Rutherford placed 2nd overall with a season best time. In the 100 meter hurdles, Abisola Anifowoshe finished 2nd and Brianna Franklin ran a personal best time placing 6th. In the 300 meter hurdles, freshman Munachi Anusieum finished 3rd and Jazmine George finished 4th. In the girls 400 meter run, Nyla Barlow finished 3rd and Victoria Tennon finished 5th. The quartet of Nyla Barlow, Alexis Woods, Jazmine George and Mikayla Wright won the 4 by 100 meter relay running their best time of the season. The girls 4 by 200 meter relay finished 2nd. The girls compete at Katy Champion Relays today at Katy High School starting at 3:15 pm.

In the girls 300 meters, Ava Breeze finished first and close behind he was teammate Kayla Randon with a 2nd place finish. In the girls 200 meters, Annalisse Thompson finished 3rd overall. In the girls 1600 meters, Alyssa Heikkila finished 1st and Rylee Salazar finished 2nd in that event. The girls 4 by 400 meter relay placed 1st with Amor Sheffield, Stephanie Chukwu, Savannah Creech and Grace Wahome. In field events, Stephanie Chukwu won and Robyn Chukwu placed 2nd. In girls long jump Sharrell Odems placed 1st overall. The girls compete today at Falcon Relays at Foster High School at 4:30pm.
The JV Maroon Boys Soccer team lost to Elsik 4-0 on Wednesday night. The Varsity Boys Soccer team lost to Elsik 6-1 on Wednesday night. The goal was scored by Martin Tamez Nunez. The goal was assisted by Erik Michel.
The girls’ soccer team played the Elsik Rams on Wednesday night. The JV fell behind 1-0 at the half and battled back to tie the game 1-1 on a goal by Laura Cardenas that was assisted by Sienna Espindola. The girls gave up 2 late goals to lose 3-1. The varsity scored early and often taking down the Rams 5-0. Taylor Rech lead the scoring with 2 goals. Jordan Schimaitis, Riley Grafe and Paige Klase each notched a goal each. Gabby Galvan, assisted 2 goals and Celeste Ruiz and Riley each had one assist. A special thank you to the senior class of Emma Carlson, Gabby Galvan, Lucy Perez, Dany Torres, Lara Olabisi and Riley Murray for their hard work and dedication to the program over the past 4 years. The Girls finish up district play on Friday as they travel to Alief Taylor.
The Varsity boys track team competed at the Annual LCISD relays on Friday. The team finished 2nd over all. There were many good performances that day. In the 1600M run, Will Lorn runs a season best of 4:45 with a second place finish. In the 3200M run, Joshua Triesch finished 2nd 10:16 and Jimmy Olmos finished 3rd with a 10:20. in the 200M, Jayson Baldridge won with a personal best and the fastest time in Texas with 21.11. Champion Allison wins the 400M with a 47.54 – the fastest time in 6A. In the 110 hurdles, Colton Pounders finished 2nd with a personal best of 15.41 and finished 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a personal best of 39.98. In Pole Vault, the Longhorn vaulters took a clean sweep. Taking 1st 2nd and 3rd are Jacob Adair, Robert Platt and Nathan Grayson. Vaulting 15ft for Jacob and Robert and 13ft for Nathan Grayson. In Long Jump, Dylan Swain takes 2nd with a personal best of 22ft 5in. In High jump, JaMarkus Taylor finished 3rd with a personal best of 6ft 2in. To end the meet, the boys 4×4 team took 2nd. Those members were Champion Allison, Avery Veiseh, Colton Pounders and Jayson Baldridge. The Longhorns will be competing at the Katy Meet of Champions Thursday at 3pm.
