3rd Annual Moonlight Madness Pep Rally

basketball_ball_128Come join us for the third annual Moonlight Madness Pep Rally to kick off basketball season here at the Ranch on Saturday, October 29th at 7pm. This year we will be joined by 97.9 the Box and the Harlem Dream, who will be playing our very own GRHS All Stars.  If you want to see some High flying Dunks, crazy basketball moves, and tons of free give aways, you don’t want to miss this. Tickets are $10 and are sold at the Student Service Window, or see one of the girls or boys basketball players.  Harlem athletes will be signing autographs after the game.  There are limited amount of tickets being sold, so get your tickets today!

Girl’s Basketball Sweeps Calhoun

BasketballTuesday night the Women’s basketball team took on Calhoun. The Freshman won with a score of 27 to 19 with Destiny Briscoe scoring 10 points. The JV won 39 to 28 with Chinasom Omludike scoring 12. The Varsity won 50 to 40 with Alexis White scoring 10 and Shelby Knventa scoring 13. The Varsity opens up with Ridgepoint in their first playoff game next Tuesday.

Girl’s Basketball vs. Lamar Consolidated

BasketballOn Friday the Longhorn Women’s basketball teams took on Lamar. The JV came out with a win 33 to 17. The Varsity won 55 to 41 clinching the district title. Alexis White and Julia Schwake both scored 17 points in the win. The next game will be tomorrow at home against Calhoun.

Girl’s Basketball Sweeps Terry

BasketballThe women’s basketball team took on the Terry Rangers Tuesday night. The Freshmen won 50 to 20. with June Martinez scoring 12 points. The JV won 95 to 27 with Precious Ike scoring 13. Varsity won 60 to 23 with Kendall Bess scoring 12. The nest game will be at Lamar this Friday.

Girl’s Basketball vs Foster

BasketballTuesday night the Women’s basketball team took on Foster. The freshman won with a score of 49 to 42. Lauren Krouch and Britney Cherry both scored 10 points in the win. The JV won 42 to 38. Milan Miller was the high point scorer with 16 points. The Varsity won with a score 63 to 34. Alexis White scored 26. The next game is against Angleton Friday at the Ranch.

Girl’s Basketball vs Calhoun

BasketballLast Friday the women’s basket ball teams took on Calhoun. The Freshaman team won with a score of 29 to 26 with Destiny Briscoe contributing 11 points. The JV won with a score of 40 to 28 with Precious Ike scoring 11. The Varsity won 55 to 50 with Kendall Bess, Rita Okoye and Kearah Nails all scoring 8. The next game will be tonight with the teams taking on Foster away.

Girl’s Basketball vs Lamar Consolidated

BasketballTuesday night the Longhorns women’s basketball teams took on the Lamar Mustangs. The Freshman team fell to the mustangs 40 to 35. Destiny Briscoe scored six. The JV won with a score of 40 to 38. Milan Miller scored 10 and Chinasom Omeludike scored 11. The Varsity won with a score of 39 to 35 with Hannah Agner scoring 6. The next game will be against Calhoun away.

Girl’s Basketball vs Angleton

BasketballTuesday night the Longhorn Womens basketball team took on the Angleton Wildcats. It was a clean sweep with both the JV and Varsity winning. The JV won 23 to 32 with Danielle Dunk scoring nine. The varsity won big 58 to 27 with Alexis White scoring 18 and Kendall Bess scoring 13. The next game will be on Friday against Terry at the Ranch. Come out and support the Longhorns!

Girl’s Basketball Sweeps Foster

BasketballOn Friday night the Longhorns women’s basketball team opened up district play against Foster. It was a clean sweep with the freshman winning 33 to 27, with Somsi Azule scoring 12. The JV fell behind early but fought back and won with a score of 47 to 39. Jillian Morris contributed with 7. The Varsity fought tough, played hard and came out with the 48 to 38. Kendall Bess and Rita Okoye both had 7 also with contributions of nine points by Alexis White and Chinwe Eke. The Next game will be tonight in Angleton.
