Boy’s Cross Country Wins District

crosscountryCongratulations to our new District 23-6A Varsity, JV, and Freshmen Boys Cross Country Champions! They are the first George Ranch team to win district in the new 23-6A division! On Varsity, Joshua Triesch finished 2nd, Wilson Hinz 7th, Jimmy Olmos 8th, Will Lord 10th, Brett Mottin 13th, Hunter Davis 15th, and Ian Hernandez 22nd. On JV, Congratulations to Connor McVoy for finishing in 1st place followed by Max Keast 3rd, Luke Edgemon 4th, Connor Appel 6th, Raymond Martinez 7th, and Mario Lule 10th. Congratulations to Caleb Degeyter for finishing in 1st place for the Freshmen followed by Harrison Keast in 2nd, Brennan Huerta in 4th, Cade Young 5th, Matthew Petersen 6th, Austin Greig 9th, and Carlos Rodriguez 10th.

Boy’s Cross Country at Clear Lake

crosscountryOn Friday, October 7th, the cross country team traveled to Clear Lake. The Varsity placed 4th overall in the Varsity “A” Division led  by Joshua Triesch, Will Lord, Hunter Davis, and Wilson Hinz. The JV competed in the Varsity”B” Division and did a great job finishing 3rd overall being led by Luke Edgemon and Connor McVoy. The Freshmen team finished 2nd overall led by Caleb Degeyter, Harrison Keast, and Brennan Huerta finishing 8th, 9th, and 10th respectively.

Boy’s Cross Country at Cy-Woods

crosscountryOn Saturday, October 1st, the Cross Country team travled to Cy-Woods and the JV Cross country team won 1st place led by Luke Edgemon, Connor McVoy, and Max Keast.  Varsity finished in 5th place lead by Joshua Triesch and teammates Jimmy Olmos, Will Lord, Hunter Davis, Wilson Hinz, Ian Hernandez, and Brett Mottin. The Freshmen finished in 3rd place overall at Cy-Woods meet led by Caleb Degeyter, Harrison Keast, and Brennan Huerta.

Cross Country at Kempner

crosscountryCongratulations to the Varisty, JV, and Freshmen boys Cross Country Teams this past weekend. The Varsity and JV teams both finished 1st and the Freshmen finished 2nd. On Varsity, Joshua Triesch lead the way finishing 2nd with Jimmy Olmos, Hunter Davis, Ian Hernandez, Wilson Hinz, and Brett Mottin finishing 9th, 11th, 18th, 20th, and 26th respectively. The JV SWEPT places 1-7 with Max Keast leading the way followed by Marcus Diep, Luke Edgmon, Raymond Martinez, Alex Burgess, Mario Lule, and Ethan Brandt.

Boy’s Cross Country at Seven Lakes Invite

crosscountryCongratulations to the Boys Cross Country Teams that competed at the Seven Lakes Meet this weekend. Out of 26 schools at each level, the Freshmen finished 5th overall, the JV finished 4th overall, and the Varsity finished 8th overall.” On Varsity, Wilson Hinz lead the way finishing 21st overall with Josh Triesch, Jimmy Olmos, Hunter Davis, and Will Lord finishing 39th, 44th, 50th, and 54th respectively for the team out of 160 runners.

Cross Country State Results

crosscountryThe Boys Cross Country team finished 8th in the State this season. In the mud and the rain the team was lead by Jacob Nava finishing 17th, Jacob Triesch 39th, Wilson Hinz 75th, Hunter Davis 84th, Ben Edgmon 102nd, Will Lord 110th, Jacob Triesch 127th. Congratulations boys! And congratulations to Theresa McComiskey for representing the Girls Cross country team at this weekend’s past State Cross Country championships. Through the cold treacherous conditions of rain, puddles and mud, Theresa managed to place 73rd out of 151 competitors in Class 5A. It was a fast and aggressive start and Theresa managed to overcome mother nature’s obstacles and run a time of 20:59 bettering her regional time. Please give your congratulations to sophomore Theresa Mccomiskey as she became the first GRHS girls cross country athlete to qualify to the state meet!

Regional XC Results

crosscountryThe Boys Cross Country Team placed 2nd at the Regional meet on Monday. Jacob Nava finished 4th overall and Jacob Triesch finished 10th overall. The boys will race next Saturday at the state meet in Roundrock.
The Girls varsity Cross Country team competed yesterday in the Region 3 Cross Country Championships. Toughing out the cold and mud, the Longhorns placed 7th overall out of 24 teams for the team place finish. This is the best placing thus far since the school opened and bettered last year’s season by 6 spots. Lauren Nguyen and Parker McCarley respectively placed 74th and 80th out of 160 competitors. Senior Payton Rouse finished 64th, Freshman Jeyme Alvear-Garcia finished 57th, Sophomore Katia Davis finished 55th and Ruhi Patel finished 34th. Sophomore Theresa McComiskey qualified to the state meet for the first time and finished 6th overall she will be representing the school in Round Rock. Theresa fought until the very end through the mud fest and definitely overcame the obstacles to earn her deserving spot to the state meet. Overall the girls Cross country team had a very successful season and we all thank the staff, faculty and parents for their continuous support. Let’s all keep supporting Theresa in her quest at the state meet November 7th in Round Rock.

Boys XC at McNeil

crosscountryThe Boys Cross Country team raced at McNeil this weekend, lead by the Jacob’s the boys team placed 14th. The JV Team placed third lead by the Edgmon’s. The Next meet is Districts October 15th at Seaborne Park.

Boys Cross Country Compete in Brenham

crosscountryThe Boys Cross Country team went out to Brenham this weekend. The Varsity finished among the top teams lead by Alec Waldschdimt and Jacob Nava. Varsity B was lead by Luke Edgmon, Raymond Martinez and Michael Pham. While JV had a series of young guys step up and lead the way.

crosscountryThe boys cross country team ran very well this weekend at the Spring Branch ISD meet. The boys had an overall winner in all divisions. Raymond Martinez won the JV race while Luke Edgmon won the freshmen race. The freshmen topped it off with a team win and scoring an unbeatable score of 26 points. The JV also put four in the top 20 spots.
