The Longhorn Varsity Boys Track team competed at the Region 3-6A Championships this past weekend and the Longhorns took the team title. This is the first regional championship for the boys track team in school history. To start of the amazing win, in pole Vault Robert Platt ties his personal best and vaulted at 15ft 6in vault to win pole vault. Jacob Adair finished 4th with a vault of 15ft. The boys 4x100m relay team of Cristian Velez, Jayson Baldridge, Sebastian Arellano and Champion Allison took the gold. In the 400m Dash Champion Allion won by a big margin to take home the gold. in the 300 hurdles, Jayson Baldridge made a big statement by running the second fastest time in the country and winning with a time of 36.08 seconds!! The longhorns 4x400m relay stole the show by winning the relay. Those members where Jayson Baldridge, Avery Veiseh, Faybian Marks and Champion Allison. The longhorns will be headed to Austin to compete at the UIL State Track meet May 13th. Come support the Longhorns as they make a run for the Team State Championship.

The Longhorns boys track team finished 2nd over all by one point at the Area track meet. There were many great performances by the team. To start the meet off by scoring big points was Robert Platt and Jacob Adair by going first and Second in pole vault. Robert Platt vaulted a personal best to win with a vault of 15ft 6in. In the High Jump JaMarkus Taylor wins high jump with the new school record, a jump of 6ft 4in. Joshua Okoye finished 6th place with a jump of 5ft’10in In the 4x100m relay, the Longhorns win with a 41.13. The relay members were: Cristian Velez, Jayson Baldridge, Sebastian Arellano and Champion Allison. In the 400m dash, Champion Allison won convincingly with a time of 46.54. In the 4x200m relay the relay punched their ticket to Region 3 6A championships by finishing 3rd. Those Members were Sebastian Arellano, Thomas Cook, Avery Veiseh, and Stephan Hegger-Bregger, in the 300h Jayson Baldridge cruised to another victory with a time of 37.62. Colton Pounders finished 5th with a time 39.85. to cap out the night the longhorn run a new school record in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:12. 76. Those members were Jayson Baldridge, Avery Vesieh, Faybian Marks and Champion Allison. The longhorns will be competing at the Region III 6A Championship track meet this coming weekend at Charger Stadium in League city. Come out and support the longhorns as they take on 6A’s best at the Regional Track meet.

The Varsity Boys Track team competed in the 23-6A District Track Meet this past weekend. The team finished 2nd over all with many outstanding performances. The following athletes advanced to the Area track meet this Friday at Dickinson High School. Josh Treisch finished 4th in the 3200m run. In pole vault, all three vaulters advanced and with a big personal best by Jacob Adair with a vault of 16ft which is tied for the best vault in 6A state. Robert Platt finished 2nd with a vault of 15ft and Nathan Grayson finished 4th with a vault of 13ft 6in. The 4×1 relay team advances with a season best 41.09. the relay members were Avery Veiseh, Champion Allison, Seabastian Arellano and Jayson Baldridge. The 4x200m relay advances to Area. Those members were Seabastian Arellano, Thomas Cook, Faybian Marks and Stephan Hegger Bragger. In the 300 hurdles, Jayson Baldridge won with a 37.45 and Colton Pounders advances with a personal best of 39.73. In the 400m dash, Champion Allison wins with a personal best of 46.15 and is currently ranked number 1 in the state and number 3 in the country. The 4x400m relay won with a 3:14. 41. Moving on to area with the top time. those members were Jayson Baldridge, Avery Veiseh, Faybian Marks and Champion Allison.

Last night the JV Boys Track Team won the district title. Freshman came in fourth. First place finishes for the night included Marcus Diep, Connor McVoy,Ike Okoye,and Isaac Williams in the shot put. Great job guys!

The Longhorn Varsity Track Team competed at the Cy-Fair ISD Relays last Friday. The boys won the meet will a lot of great performances. In Pole Vault, Robert Platt finished first, Jacob Adair finished 2nd and Nathan Grayson finished 4th. In the 3200M Run, Joshua Triesch finished 3rd, Robert Lord finished 9th and Connor McVoy finished 13th. in the 1600M Run, Jimmy Olmos finished 8th, Luke Edgmon finished 12th and Hunter Davis finished 19th. In the 800M Run, Wilson Hinz finished 3rd, Ian Hernandez finished 14th and Marcus Diep finished 20th. In the 100M Dash, Cristian Velez finished 9th, Thomas Cook finished 13th and Cody Gardner finished 18th. in the 200M Dash, Champion Allison finished 1st and Avery Veiseh Finished 6th. in the 400M Dash, Dylan Swain finished 16th. In the 300M Hurdles, Colton Pounders finished 2nd. The 4x100M Relay finished 5th and the the 4x200M Relay finished 2nd and the 4x400M Relay finished 1st. In Discus, Jeremiah Russell finished 5th and Colton Robertson finished 16th. In the Shot Put, Travis Lafall finished 8th, Jeremiah Russell finished 10th and Nathan Hernandez finished 14th. In High Jump, Joel Barrera finished 2nd, Joshua Okoye finished 6th and JaMarkus Taylor finished 8th. In Long Jump, Kosi Ejeckum finished 10th. In the Triple Jump, Caleb Johnson finished 6th and Damien Gaston finished 11th and Damon Johnson finished 12th. The Longhorns will be competing again at Angleton Relays this Friday at 1:30 PM and Texas Relays Friday and Saturday.

The Varsity boys track team competed at the Annual LCISD relays on Friday. The team finished 2nd over all. There were many good performances that day. In the 1600M run, Will Lorn runs a season best of 4:45 with a second place finish. In the 3200M run, Joshua Triesch finished 2nd 10:16 and Jimmy Olmos finished 3rd with a 10:20. in the 200M, Jayson Baldridge won with a personal best and the fastest time in Texas with 21.11. Champion Allison wins the 400M with a 47.54 – the fastest time in 6A. In the 110 hurdles, Colton Pounders finished 2nd with a personal best of 15.41 and finished 3rd in the 300 hurdles with a personal best of 39.98. In Pole Vault, the Longhorn vaulters took a clean sweep. Taking 1st 2nd and 3rd are Jacob Adair, Robert Platt and Nathan Grayson. Vaulting 15ft for Jacob and Robert and 13ft for Nathan Grayson. In Long Jump, Dylan Swain takes 2nd with a personal best of 22ft 5in. In High jump, JaMarkus Taylor finished 3rd with a personal best of 6ft 2in. To end the meet, the boys 4×4 team took 2nd. Those members were Champion Allison, Avery Veiseh, Colton Pounders and Jayson Baldridge. The Longhorns will be competing at the Katy Meet of Champions Thursday at 3pm.

Last Thursday the JV Boys finished first at the Foster Falcon Relays. The Freshman boys finished second. First place finishes for the evening included Isaac Williams in the shot put, Max Keast in the 3200, Devin Rios in the 200, and Alex Egmon in the 1600. Next week the Longhorns travel to Terry on Thursday.
