Our Longhorns played very well this past Friday getting back in the winning column. We were also able to clinch a playoff berth as we defeated the Elsik Rams 36-9 in a dominating fashion. Defense had an outstanding performance allowing only 112 total yards’ offense to the Rams. Defense had some key turnovers with Matthew Burger and Brandon Greer accounting for two of those turnovers. On offense Eric Michel, Alex Fontenot, Jay’Ren Miller and David Fisher all contributed in scoring efforts. This Friday we take on Alief Taylor “Lions” game time 7pm at Crump Stadium, please come out and support us.
The freshmen Black Team played Alief Elsik last night and tied 6 to 6. Brett Jetton Scored on a 2 yard touchdown run. On the defense side John Paquette made an interception which turn the game around to help the offense score. Great game longhorns. Last night the JV Black football won their district contest against Alief Elsik 22- 14. Trvion Phillips scored first for the Longhorns followed by Semaj Brown and Justus Williams. Next Noel Shibud stripped the ball and ran it in for a score on defense. The Longhorns complete their season next week at home against the Alief Taylor Lions. The Freshman Maroon football team hosted Elsik last night and came away with a 46-6 victory. Ashton Stredick and Andre Falquay scored for the Longhorn offense with 2 and 3 touchdowns respectively. Stredick would also add a 2- point conversion to the mix. Special teams saw a kick-off return for a touchdown by Tim Odusola and a punt return by Faybian Marks for six with Carlos Villagomez adding the PAT. The defense kept the Rams off the board until late in the game and forced several turnovers. The Longhorns will end district play next week as they travel to Alief Taylor with a 3-1-1 record.
