Girls soccer tryouts will be held from 4:00 – 5:30pm on November 27th through November 29th.   If your student is interested in being a part of the Longhorn Girls Soccer program, please have them see Coach Pratt in room 1511 for more information.  Remember they must have a LCISD Athletic Physical on file and Rank One Forms completed to tryout

Girls Soccer vs. Friendswood

soccerThe Longhorn girls soccer team competed in the Bi- District round of the Playoffs Thursday night against the Friendswood Lady Mustangs. Despite a great team effort the Longhorns fell 2-0. A special thank you goes to the senior class of 2017 for their leadership and commitment to the program over the past four years. Thank you for setting the standard of excellence the Longhorn program stands for.

Girls Soccer Beat Alief Taylor

soccer_ball_128The girls soccer team had to battle the lighting and the Taylor Lady Lions on Friday night. When finally allowed to play, the girls scored early and often. Goals were scored by Paige Klase, Jordan Shimaitis, Eden Garver, Ashley Vega, Jenna Sanders, and Dany Torres. Shimaitis led the assist with 2 with Jenna Murray, Sanders, Grace Ramirez, and Riley Grafe all adding one. The girls team will compete in the playoffs after spring break!

Girls Soccer Beat Elsik

soccerThe girls’ soccer team played the Elsik Rams on Wednesday night. The JV fell behind 1-0 at the half and battled back to tie the game 1-1 on a goal by Laura Cardenas that was assisted by Sienna Espindola. The girls gave up 2 late goals to lose 3-1. The varsity scored early and often taking down the Rams 5-0. Taylor Rech lead the scoring with 2 goals. Jordan Schimaitis, Riley Grafe and Paige Klase each notched a goal each. Gabby Galvan, assisted 2 goals and Celeste Ruiz and Riley each had one assist. A special thank you to the senior class of Emma Carlson, Gabby Galvan, Lucy Perez, Dany Torres, Lara Olabisi and Riley Murray for their hard work and dedication to the program over the past 4 years. The Girls finish up district play on Friday as they travel to Alief Taylor.

Girls Soccer vs Pearland

soccer_ball_128The girls soccer program traveled to Pearland on Saturday to take on the Lady Oilers. The JV team fought hard but came up short dropping the game 2-0. Varsity girls dropped their game as well to the Lady Oilers 4-1, with the lone goal coming from Riley Murray. The girls will host the Lady Rams of Elsik in their last home game season Wednesday night.

Girls Soccer vs. Brazoswood

soccer_ball_128The girls soccer team competed against the Lady Buccaneers from Brazoswood. The JV girls came up short on a defensive battle losing 1-0. Keyla Fourtol spear-headed the effort and was supported by Heidi Jacko, Nailea Badillo, Carson Yanta and Dani Dunk. The Varsity took the field looking to avenge an earlier 4-1 loss in the first round. The Longhorns fought back from a time 3-1 deficit to tie the game 3-3 sending it to PKs only to get out shot. Scoring for George Ranch was Riley Grafe, Paige Klase and Riley Murray. Assisting on the goals were Jordan Shimaitis and Paige Klase strong contributors during the game were Ceana Hernandez, Taylor Rech and Celeste Ruiz. The Longhorns battle Pearland on Saturday.

Girls Soccer vs. Pearland Dawson

soccer_ball_128The girls soccer team traveled to Pearland Dawson take on the Lady Eagles. The JV squad fought hard but dropped the game 2-0. Solid play came from Naila Badillo, Keyla Fortul and Jordan Crouch.

The varsity squad had to battle from behind early in the game to settle the final score at 2-2. Paige Klase and Ceana Hernandez scored goals for the Longhorns with Jordan Shimaitis and Riley Grafe proving assist. Solid play came from Riley Murray, Jenna Sanders, Jenna Murray and Tayler Jasek. The girls will host Brazoswood on Tuesday. Come out and support your Longhorns!

Girls Soccer Beat Alief Hastings

soccer_ball_128Friday night the Longhorns took on the Hastings Bears from Alief. The JV began the evening with a solid 3-1 win with goals being scored by Eden Garver with 2 and Litzy Vasquez with 1. The goals were assisted by Litzy, Eden, and Sienna Espindola. Others stepping up playing a strong game were Nailea Badillo, Josseline Garay and Sophie Edwards. The varsity entered the game tied for first in district play. They scored by Gabby Galvan and Jordan Shimaitis and assisted by Paige Klase and Emma Carlson. The Longhorns travel to Pearland Dawson to take on the Lady Eagles Tuesday.

Girl’s Varsity Soccer Beat Alief Taylor

soccer_ball_128After the crazy weather Tuesday settled down the Longhorn girls soccer team got to work against the Taylor Lady Lions. The girls scored early and often winning 8-0. Gabby Galvan led the scoring with 2 goals with Paige Klase, Ashley Vega, Jenna Murray, Riley Grafe, Jordan Shimaitis and Emma Carlson all adding 1 goal. Shimaitis added 3 assist, Grafe with 2 and Celeste Ruiz and Klase each adding one. Solid play came from Jenna Sanders, Dany Torres, Tayler Jasek and Kasey Davis. The girls finished the first round in a 3 way tie for first place. Come out and support them in the second round!
