Varsity Girl’s Soccer Beat Alief Elsik

soccer_ball_128The girls soccer team traveled to Elsik Friday night to take on the Lady Rams. The JV team lost a close 2-1 game. The lone goal on the night was scored by Eden Garver from a Noely Herandez assist. The varsity team took control of the game early against the Lady Rams and racked up a 3-0 win. Goals were scored by Jordan Shimaitis, Paige Klase and Riley Murray. Kasey Davis and Gabby Galvan both assisted on the night. Solid play came from Jenna Sanders, Lara Olabisi and Grace Ramirez. The Longhorns will host the Lady Lions of Alief Taylor on Friday. Come out and support your Longhorns

Girl’s Soccer beat Pearland

soccer_ball_128The Longhorns hosted the Lady Oilers from Pearland last night. The JV fought a tough defensive battle giving up the only score in the game off a corner kick. The effort was led by Eden Garver, Nailea Badillo, and Keyla Fortul. The varsity squared off against the district leading Oilers and defeated them 1-0 off a Gabby Galvan goal. A superb defensive effort was led by Jenna Murray, Jenna Sanders, Emilee Ulke, Kasey Davis. The Longhorns travel to Alief Elsik to take on the Lady Rams Friday.

Girl’s Varsity Soccer Beat Pearland Dawson

soccer_ball_128The Longhorn girls soccer team hosted the Eagles from Pearland Dawson Friday night. The JV team took a 1-0 lead in the game thanks to a Eden Garver goal off a Rae Mayi assist only to come up short on a 2-1 loss. Carson Yanta, Heidi Jacko and Sophie Edwards all had solid games. The Varsity took the field looking to stay perfect in district play and they did not disappoint. Kasey Davis sent a free kick down the field to a streaking Paige Klase to score the lone goal in the contest. Outstanding play cam from both goal keepers, Emilee Ulkee and KK Hydo, Riley Grafe, Gabby Glavan, Tayler Jasek and Jordan Shimaitis. The girls have a few days off until they hit the road Friday to take on Brazoswood.

Girl’s Soccer in Area Playoffs

soccerThe Longhorn Soccer team played in the Area round of the State Playoffs on Friday night against Port Neches Groves. After finishing the game 0-0 and going into double overtime the girls lost to the Indians in Penalty Kicks. This ended the girls fantastic season with a record of 17-4-1. Thank you seniors for all you have done over the past 4 years.

Girl’s Soccer vs. Port Neches Groves

soccerThe Longhorn Soccer team played in the Area round of the State Playoffs on Friday night against Port Neches Groves. After finishing the game 0-0 and going into double overtime the girls lost to the Indians in Penalty Kicks. This ended the girls fantastic season with a record of 17-4-1. Thank you seniors for all you have done over the past 4 years.

Girl’s Soccer Wins Bi-District Playoff Game

soccerThe girls soccer team played the in the Bi-District game of the playoffs Thursday night. The girls beat the Lady Broncos of FB Bush 5-1. Jordan Shimaitis led the scoring with 2 goals and 2 assist. Colleen Janecek, Allyson Dernehl and Shreya Desai all added one goal. Kasey Davis, Shreya Desai and Sydney Heikkila all served up an assist. Strong play came from Jenna Sanders, Mehgan Burger, and Michelle Mills. The girls will play in the area round of the playoffs next Friday, details will be released soon.

Girl’s Soccer Sweeps Terry

soccerThe girls soccer teams competed in their final district game on the Friday before Spring Break. The JV squad finished up their undefeated district season by defeating the Terry Lady Rangers 4-0. Emma Carlson led the offense by scoring 1 goal and having 1 assist. Noely Hernandez, Brittany Adase and Juliana Rios all scored one goal as well. Jessica Torres, Gabby Perez and Dany Torres all served up one assist each. They finished their season with a record of 11-2-1. Great job Longhorns. On senior night, where they honored their 12 seniors, the girls wrapped up a 3rd straight district tittle by defeating the Lady Rangers 7-0. Shreya Desai led the way scoring 4 goals, with Gabby Galvan, Taylor Rech and Tayler Jasek each adding 1 goal each. Jordan Shimaitis served up 4 assist with Michelle Mills and Kasey Davis each adding one. The Longhorns will start the State Playoffs on Thursday March 24th at 5:00pm when they take on FB Bush at Austin High school. Please come out and support your Longhorns!!

Girl’s Soccer Beat Angleton

soccerThe girls soccer team traveled to Angleton to take on the Lady Wildcats. JV won an exciting 4-0 game. Goals were scored by Juliana Rios, Emma Carlson, Ashley Vega and Lara Olabisi. Solid field play from Sophie Edwards and Carson Yanta. Varsity girls played in a physical match up and came out with a 1-0 victory. Taylor Rech scored the lone goal of the night from a Meghan Burger cross. Great defensive play came from Shana Hardin, Clare Valdez and Madeline Bares. The girls play their final game of the regular season at home on Friday against Terry. Come out and see your Longhorns before they head into the playoffs!!

Girl’s Soccer Beat Calhoun

soccerCongratulations to the girls soccer team as they continued their winning ways by defeating the Calhoun Sandcrabs 6-0 Tuesday night. Jordan Shimaitis led the way of the attacking by scoring 2 goals and having 1 assist. Gabby Galvan, Allyson Dernehl and Michelle Mills all added one goal. Taylor Rech, Shreya Desai, and Sidney Heikkila all provided assist. The Defense held solid behind the play of Shana Hardin, Clare Valdez, Madeline Bares and Mehgan Burger. The girls take on cross town rival Foster on Friday at home! Come out and support your Longhorns!!!

Girl’s Soccer Sweeps Lamar Consolidated

soccerThe girls soccer team traveled to Lamar to take on the Lady Mustang on a cold and windy night. The JV took control early and won the game 3-0. Goals were scored by Grace Ramirez, Laura Cardenas and Emma Carlson, with 2 assist from Noely Hernandez. Gabriella Perez, Dany Dunk and Carson Yanta all had solid games for the Longhorns. The varsity team took command early defeating the Mustangs 9-0. Jordan Shimaitis and Shreya Desai both scored two goals each with Gabby Galvan, Taylor Rech, Tayler Jasek and Austin Martz each scoring one. Assisting goals were Taylor Rech had two with Jordan Shimaitis, Gabby Galvan, Jenna Sanders, Ariana Salazar, Shreya Desai and Shana Hardin. The girls will host Calhoun on Tuesday.
