Volleyball Sweeps Alief Taylor

volleyball_128The Longhorn Volleyball program played their last home game of the season last night. All 3 teams swept Alief Taylor to close out district play. The freshman team defeated Alief Taylor with scores of 25-11 and 25-8. The freshman ended the season with an over-all record of 16-12 and a district record of 7-5. The JV team defeated Alief Taylor with scores of 25-5 and 25-7. The JV ended the season with an over-all record of 20-6 and a district record of 11-1 capturing the district championship. The varsity squad defeated Alief Taylor with scores of 25-16, 25-10, and 25-5. Serve ace leaders were Kennedy Prince with 3, Audrey Tuttle with 2, and Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 2. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 15 and Cassie Coker with 10. Set assist leaders were Olivia Gray with 18 and Alaina Lanik with 10. Serve receive leaders were Valerie Valerian with 8 and Cheyenne Horst with 8. Block leaders were Kennedy Prince with 3, Stacy Chukwujekwu with 3, Cassie Coker with 3, and Samantha Garza with 2. Dig leaders were Cheyenne Horst with 20 and Valerie Valerian with 16. The Longhorns close out regular season play with an over-all record of 30-10 and a district record of 8-4. Volleyball Sweeps Alief Elsik

volleyball_128The Longhorn Volleyball program traveled to Alief Elsik Friday night and came home with 3 wins. The freshman squad defeated Elsik with scores of 25-13 and 25-20. The JV team dominated the match and easily took down Elsik with scores of 25-8 and 25-7. The varsity team defeated the Lady Rams in 3 straight sets with scores of 25-10, 25-21, and 25-13. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 19 and Kennedy Prince with 12. Set assist leaders were Alaina Lanik with 14 and Mady Rathmell with 11. Block Leaders were Valerie Valerian with 3 and Cassie Coker with 3. Dig leaders were Brianna Franklin with 10 and Cheyenne Horst with 10. Serve ace leader was Audrey Tuttle with 7 aces. Serve receive leaders were Audrey Tuttle with 12 and Valerie Valerian with 9.

Volleyball Beats Brazoswood

volleyball_128The Longhorn volleyball program traveled to Brazoswood and came back with 2 team wins. The freshman dropped the match with scores of 22-25 and 21-25. The JV squad defeated Brazoswood with scores of 25-23 and 25-14. The varsity team took down Brazoswood in 3 straight sets with scores of 25-15, 25- 21, and 25-17. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 18, Audrey Tuttle with 14, and Kennedy Prince with 10. Set assist leader was Alaina Lanik with 23. Serve ace leader was Kennedy Prince with 4. Block leaders were Cassie Coker with 5, Kennedy Prince with 4, and Stacy Chukwujekwu with 3. Dig leaders were Valerie Valerian with 19, Audrey Tuttle with 12, and Brianna Franklin with 10. volleyball_128The Longhorn Volleyball teams traveled to Alief Hastings to take on the Lady Bears. All three teams came home with big wins. The freshman squad took down Hastings with scores of 25-5 and 25-9. The JV team also defeated the Lady Bears with scores of 25-7 and 25-14. The varsity squad beat the Lady Bears in 3 sets with scores of 25-20, 25-13, and 25-13. Serve ace leaders were Brianna Franklin and Mady Rathmell with 1 serve ace each. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 11, Audrey Tuttle with 10, Kennedy Prince with 9, and Stacy Chukwujekwu with 9. Set assist leaders were Alaina Lanik with 16 and Olivia Gray with 11. Serve receive leader was Cheyenne Horst with 15. Block leaders were Kennedy Prince with 4 and Cassie Coker with 3. The freshman squad started the night off by defeating the Lady Lions with scores of 25-10 and 25-13. The JV team followed suit by winning with scores of 25-10 and 25-10. The varsity volleyball team took down Alief Taylor in 3 sets with scores of 25-5, 25-4, and 25-18. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 17 and Audrey Tuttle with 8. Set assist leaders were Olivia Gray with 12, Alaina Lanik with 8, and Sam Garza with 8. Block leaders were Cassie Coker with 3, Katie Armstrong with 2, and Valerie Valerian with 2. Dig leaders were Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 15 and Cheyenne Horst with 11. Serve ace leaders were Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 6 and Brianna Franklin with 3. Serve receive leaders were Valerie Valerian, Kristen Garcia-Rameau, and Cheyenne Horst with 5 each. Congratulations ladies on a job well done.

JV followed suit winning with scores of 25-22 and 25-15. The Varsity team took down the Lady Rams with scores of 25-12, 25-19, and 25-14. Kill leader was Valerie Valerian with 15. Set assist leaders were Mady Rathmell with 18 and Olivia Gray with 9. Block leaders were Kennedy Prince with 4, Stacy Chukwujekwu with 4, and Cassie Coker with 3. Dig leaders were Valerie Valerian with 22, Audrey Tuttle with 15, and Brianna Franklin with 12. Serve ace leaders were Audrey Tuttle with 2 and Cheyenne Horst with 2. Serve receive leaders were Audrey Tuttle with 10 and Cheyenne Horst with 10.

Sub-Varsity Volleyball at LCISD Tourney

volleyball_128The Longhorn JV and Freshman Volleyball teams played in the LCISD subvarsity volleyball tournament this past weekend and came up with a lot of wins. In the freshman division, the Longhorns finished 3rd with a record of 4-1. In match one, they beat Kempner with scores of 25-23, 16-25, and 25-12. In match 2, they beat Clements in 2 with scores of 28-26 and 25-15. In match 3, the Longhorns came up short against Foster with scores of 21-25 and 15-25. In the final match of the day, the freshman squad defeated Memorial with scores of 25-15, 25-27, and 15-12 to bring home the 3rd place trophy. The JV team also competed in the LCISD subvarsity tournament and won the entire JV division. They easily took down Lamar in 2 with scores of 25-9 and 25-10. In set 2, they faced a feisty Foster squad but won with scores of 22-25, 25-16, and 25-21. In the championship match, the Longhorns beat Austin with scores of 25-22 and 25-22. Congratulation on your Championship victory this past weekend!

The JV team also came up with a big win with scores of 25-9 and 25-13. The Varsity squad took down Hastings in 3 sets with scores of 25-8, 25-12, and 25-19. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 19 and Audrey Tuttle with 10. Set assist leaders were Samantha Garza with 14 and Olivia Gray with 9. Block leaders were Kennedy Prince with 3 and Stacy Chukwujekwu with 3. Dig leaders were Cheyenne Horst with 10, Valerie Valerian with 9, and Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 7. Serve ace leader was Valerie Valerian was 3 serve aces. Serve receive leaders were Cheyenne Horst with 10 and Valerie Valerian with 9.

Volleyball Beat Morton Ranch

volleyball_128The Longhorn volleyball team took on Morton Ranch at Longhorn gym. The freshman squad beat Morton Ranch with scores of 25-21 and 25-18. JV followed suit defeating Morton Ranch with scores of 25-13 and 25-13. The Longhorn Varsity squad took down Morton Ranch with scores of 25-15, 25- 10, 24-26, and 25-15. Kill leader was Valerie Valerian with 18 kills. Assist leader was Alaina Lanik with 19 set assists. Block leaders were Cassie Coker with 7, Stacy Chukwujekwu with 6, and Kennedy Prince with 5. Dig leaders were Audrey Tuttle with 16, Brianna Franklin with 15, and Cheyenne Horst with 15. Serve receive leader was Cheyenne Horst with 21. Ace leaders were Sam Garza, Lexi Shafer, and Cheyenne Horst with 2 serve aces each. The Longhorns open up district play this Friday night at “The Ranch” as they take on Alief Hastings.
