The Freshman girls’ basketball team traveled yesterday to the St. Agnes basketball tournament. In their first game, they took on the St. Agnes Tigers. In the first half, the Longhorns stayed close with a score of 14-10 at halftime. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers were too much to handle, and the freshman girls suffered their first loss of the season. Top scorers in that game were Rita Okoye with 6 and Chinwe Eke with 4 points. In their second game of the night, the Longhorns took on St. Pius. With a return trip on Saturday and a trophy on the line, the Longhorns fought hard and came up with the win, 33-28. They will return on Saturday to play for consolation.
