Girls – The Longhorn women’s wrestling team competed in the Longhorn Invitational this past weekend. They finished as tournament champions! Placing 4th were Naomi Minturn, Alanis Ventura and Maria Cuaresma. Placing in 3rd were Alexandra Sanchez and Mariana Castenenda. Placing in 2nd were Abby Gonzalez and Diana Luong. Loren Braun was the tournament champion in her weight class. Congrats, girls!
Boys’ JV Black – The Longhorn JV Black team took 6th place in the Longhorn Invitational this past weekend. Finishing in 4th place was Jordan Kendall. Finishing in 3rd place was Cameron Fehres. And the tournament champion was Caleb Martinez.
Boys’ JV Maroon – The Longhorn JV Maroon wrestlers won the Longhorn Invitational JV division this weekend finishing 69 points ahead of the 2nd place team. Placing 3rd was Myles West. Placing 2nd were Mike Elkhoury, Brian Nguyen and Nnamdi Omeludie. The tournament champions were Hunter Rubio, Brandon Yarbrough and Donell Brager-Hegger.
Varsity – The Longhorn Varsity men successfully defended their home turf this weekend at the Longhorn Invitational by repeating as tournament champions. The men finished 56 points ahead of 2nd place Humble HS to keep the trophy at home. Placing 4th was Alex Aronson. Placing 3rd were Joey Minkel and Ryan Tse. Placing 2nd were Dante Giordano, Josh Marine and Alex Chartier. The tournament champions were Jakob Marine, Corey Chartier, Brad Cross and Garrett Brinneman.
