JV – Congratulations to the JV girls’ soccer team who dominated the Lady Mustangs on Friday night before Spring Break. The Longhorns scored early and often in the 8–0 victory. The scoring was lead by Emma Carlson and Sophia Arreola who each scored 2 goals. Also contributing were Gee Garay, Lucy Perez, Lara Olabisi and Claire McInnis with one goal each. Consistent and aggressive offensive play was shown by Kendall Bess, Cerenitee Adams and Arianna Salazar. A stout defensive effort was shown by Maddie Woodfin, Hadley Perez, Marissa Vrba and Demi Sadek.
Varsity – The varsity team took the field ready for battle and scored in the first 3 minutes and never looked back. They blasted the Lady Mustangs 8-0. Haley Hartnett lead the offense for the Longhorns scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists on the night. Julia Linton and Kathryn Thaxton both added 2 goals, with Michelle Mills and Alannah Jones each adding one goal. Riley Murray added two assists on the game, with Mills, Ally Dernehl, Shana Hardin and Shreya Desai all adding one assist. Strong play came from Courtney Buchanan, Madi Nicholson and Alannah Jones. The Longhorns will host Foster on Tuesday in their final game of the season in a district title showdown. Come out and support your Longhorns!
