JV – Friday night in Angleton in the top of the first saw the Longhorns’ JV softball take an early lead, 2-0. Lauren Chubon singled to ignite Longhorns’ offense. An error then moved Lauren from first to third. Gaby Aguilar was 2 for 3 at the plate. London Diller was on the mound striking out 3, walking 1, and giving up 8 hits. The Longhorns lost 4-3. On Tuesday, JV jumped out to an early lead on Lamar and captured a 15-1 victory at George Ranch. A two-run single by London Diller and RBI singles by Larissa Eversole and Emma Glose started the first inning. A walk for Kim Williams and an RBI single by Cienna Cantu in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Longhorns. In the third, the Longhorns scored on a walk by Jewelisa Zamora and an RBI double by Kim. London brought the heat against Lamar during her outing. Lamar managed just one hit off the Longhorn’s pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out eight during her four innings of work.

Varsity – Varsity Softball fended off Angleton’s late push to hold on to a 3-2 victory. The top of the third saw the Longhorns take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Emily Rimes, bringing home Kayte Martinez, started off the inning. Angleton quickly matched George Ranch’s strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the third. The Longhorns went up for good in the fifth, scoring two runs on a two-run double by Madison McDonald. On Tuesday, Emily Rimes went 3-3 at the plate, sparking George Ranch to a 1-0 victory in seven innings over Lamar. She singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning scoring the Longhorns’ only run. Natasha Cabucio held Lamar scoreless allowing three hits, two walks and striking out eight.
