The Pearland Dawson Eagles put up a good fight on August 29th, but your varsity Longhorns were able to pull out the victory. Defensive back, Tsola Ayinde, made a big play by picking off a Dawson pass early in the first quarter. The interception led to a 4-yard touchdown run by Timon Nolan, which gave the Longhorns their first score of the night. This sparked the offense, which put up 14 unanswered points. The Eagles were able to claw their way back into the game by scoring 10 points in the first half. During the second half Xavian Marks and Darius Anderson made big play after big play. Xavian Marks led the offense by scoring three touchdowns with 126 yards rushing including a 45-yard punt return. Anderson contributed with 133 yards rushing with one touchdown. Melton Finley’s fumble recovery and Mikail Onu’s pass breakup were two big defensive plays that put the nail in coffin. The final score was Dawson 17 and your George Ranch Longhorns 35.
