The freshmen black team played an amazing game against the woodlands but came up short 26-20. Brett Jetton scored three times and scored the conversion. Michael Hayes had one interception and Michael Whigam connected with Brett Jetton for one of his three touchdowns. The next game is next Thursday against Alief Hastings. Last night the JV Black team fell to The Woodlands 48-6. Jonathon Fisher ran back a kickoff for the Longhorns only touchdown. Next week the Longhorns travel to Alief Hastings to open district play. The Freshman Maroon football team picked up their first win against the Woodlands last night 18-7. Ashton Stredick scored twice for the Longhorns in the second quarter with the PATs no good. The Longhorns led at the half 12-0 and wouldn’t score again until the 4th quarter. Stredick broke on an 80 yard touchdown run to put the Longhorns up 18-0. The Highlanders managed to score in the last few minutes for the final 18-7. The Freshman Maroon will travel to Alief Hastings next Thursday with a 1-2 record.
