Coach Ricky Tullos, George Ranch High School Campus Coordinator and Head Football Coach, has scheduled his Incoming Freshman Football Parent Meeting for Thursday, May 11th at 7 PM in the GRHS Field House. All incoming freshman football athletes are encouraged to attend.

Football Beats Alief Elsik

footballOur Longhorns played very well this past Friday getting back in the winning column. We were also able to clinch a playoff berth as we defeated the Elsik Rams 36-9 in a dominating fashion. Defense had an outstanding performance allowing only 112 total yards’ offense to the Rams. Defense had some key turnovers with Matthew Burger and Brandon Greer accounting for two of those turnovers. On offense Eric Michel, Alex Fontenot, Jay’Ren Miller and David Fisher all contributed in scoring efforts. This Friday we take on Alief Taylor “Lions” game time 7pm at Crump Stadium, please come out and support us.

Sub-Varsity Football vs Alief Elsik

footballThe freshmen Black Team played Alief Elsik last night and tied 6 to 6. Brett Jetton Scored on a 2 yard touchdown run. On the defense side John Paquette made an interception which turn the game around to help the offense score. Great game longhorns.  Last night the JV Black football won their district contest against Alief Elsik 22- 14. Trvion Phillips scored first for the Longhorns followed by Semaj Brown and Justus Williams. Next Noel Shibud stripped the ball and ran it in for a score on defense. The Longhorns complete their season next week at home against the Alief Taylor Lions.  The Freshman Maroon football team hosted Elsik last night and came away with a 46-6 victory. Ashton Stredick and Andre Falquay scored for the Longhorn offense with 2 and 3 touchdowns respectively. Stredick would also add a 2- point conversion to the mix. Special teams saw a kick-off return for a touchdown by Tim Odusola and a punt return by Faybian Marks for six with Carlos Villagomez adding the PAT. The defense kept the Rams off the board until late in the game and forced several turnovers. The Longhorns will end district play next week as they travel to Alief Taylor with a 3-1-1 record.

Varsity Football vs. Pearland

footballOur football suffered a tough 13-7 loss this past Friday night to the Pearland Oilers. We look forward to getting back in the winning column and establish a playoff berth as we take on the Elsik Rams this Friday; game time 7:00 PM Traylor Stadium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Sub-Varsity Football vs. Pearland

footballLast night the JV Black football team fell to Pearland 21-0. The Longhorns played very hard on the mud soaked field. Defensively Jaleel Thomas led the team in tackles and Semaj Brown led the offense in rushing. Next week the Longhorns travel to Alief to take on the Elsik Rams.  The freshmen black team played Pearland High school yesterday and lost a tough battle 49 to 12. Caden Cook throw a touchdown pass to Sylvester Idehen and Brett Jetton rushed for a one-yard touchdown. The longhorns take on Alief Elsik next Thursday. Please come out and support the longhorns.  The Freshman Maroon Football team traveled to Pearland and tied 19-19. It was a hard fought game down to the last second. Scoring for the Longhorns was Mikey White, Faybian Marks and Ashton Stredick. Carlos Villagomez was able to add one PAT. The defense did a good job of forcing turnovers and getting the ball back for the offense.

Freshman Football Beats Brazoswood

footballThe Freshmen Black team won their first district game against Brazoswood. 20- 7. Micheal Whigham threw a touchdown pass to Sylvester Idehen. Sylvester Idehen rushed for another touchdown and Eric Gibson rushed for the two point conversion. Caden Cook rushed for a touchdown late in the third quarter. Great win Longhorns.  The Freshman Maroon football team hosted Brazoswood last night and came away with a 35-14 win. The Longhorns got on the board quick when Andre Falquay blocked a Buccaneer punt and ran it back for 6. Carlos Villagomez would then make the first of his 5 extra points. The Longhorn defense gave the offense the ball back again when Justin Cox intercepted a pass. Ashton Stredick would score twice for the Longhorns bringing the score to 21-0 before half. Maveric Cates would connect with Justin Webb for a touchdown as the clock went to zero for the half. With a 28-0 lead Stredick would break a 60 yard run in the 3rd quarter for the Longhorns final score. The win brings the Longhorns to 2-2 in district play as they travel to Pearland on Thursday.
